Adware

Adware is a program that displays advertising that sometimes comes bundled with software like freeware or shareware. Developers may do this to fund the continued development and maintenance of their software. On other occasions, it could take over your screens with annoying or malicious advertisements.

Adware can be downright dangerous. When installing apps, adware could give you the slip and end up on your device without you knowing about it. Once installed, it could track your online activities, slow down your devices, siphon personal details or be the entry point for malware like spyware and ransomware.
